Ram Island Ledge Light

I went to Cape Elizabeth to photograph the Portland Head Light earlier this summer, but I ended up with some great shots of the Ram Island Ledge Light instead.  This lighthouse is a few hundred feet away from the Portland Head Light.  You can see it in the background of photographs of the Portland Head Light.  Construction began on this lighthouse in 1903 and was completed in 1905.  After more than a century of service, it was sold to a surgeon in 2010.

This photograph was exposed for ten seconds a few minutes before sunrise.  I have a few photos of the actual sunrise below, but I think I prefer the image before the sun actually rose.  There were no clouds in the sky, but there was a lot of rich color in the sky nonetheless.
